The Leader of the future studies broadly and practices deeply.

We’ve invested 7 weeks now in exploring the qualities and characteristics of Renaissance Leadership.

I’ve done my best to convey why we need a rebirth of art, beauty, heart and love in today’s world.

Yes, even in business.

Love is the primary driving force of the entire universe.
In both Life and Business. If you don’t get this then with all respect,
you just don’t get it.

We’ve become lost in traditional ROI in today’s world, even though exhaustive research proves this approach is not the way to ultimate leadership, life or results.

A 15-year study on Wall Street tracked companies that focused only on traditional ROI; and found that companies which only paid attention to numbers experienced a 150% increase in the 15-year period at best. 

Conversely, companies that paid attention to team members interiors (happiness, fulfillment, contribution, using their unique gifts), increased over 1500% in the same time frame.

You see, we all want the same things. Whether we’re a CEO, a truck driver, an entrepreneur or a schoolteacher.

We all want happiness, beauty, art, heart, love and fulfillment.

Gallup research proves that nearly 75% of the people surveyed are completely unhappy, disengaged and unfulfilled in their work.

On the flip side, multiple research proves that organizations that have happy team members have 3X the revenue and outperform the stock market by a factor of 3. 

While at the same time boasting a turnover rate that is ½ that of companies with unhappy team members.

When are we going to wake up?

that companies with happy employees have 3X the revenue;
and they outperform the stock market by a factor of 3.
Leaders it’s time to wake up.

For you to be a leader for the future, once again you must study broad and comprehensive.

This takes work. This takes an investment of time and holding this objective in high value.

It’s worth it.

Self-Awareness is job #1 for the Leader of the Future; and this full Self-Awareness can only be found by studying: Philosophy, Psychology, Biology, Physiology, Astronomy, Physics, Spirituality, as well as Business.

Anything less is an incomplete view of the universe in which we live.

Knowledge of anything without a comprehensive understanding
of its relationship to the whole is not knowledge at all.

If you don’t know how and where you fit into this universe, how can you possibly help others in your life and team to know?

You can’t give what you don’t have.

To be a great leader you must
be both a scientist and a philosopher.
To be a great scientist and philosopher
you must be somewhat of a mystic.

While the old paradigm is that studies beyond business are a waste of time for business, the new paradigm knows that your business is part of an ecosystem, it’s a reflection of you, and everything affects everything.

Please understand, I’m not advocating becoming a Jack or Jane of all trades.

Quite the opposite.

For as we’ve heard many times, this leads to mastery of none.

What I am advocating is studying broad and then practicing deep.

In other words, studying all great teachings in this universe so you understand how your primary focus fits into the whole; and then work your unique gifts and genius with laser focus in alignment with that whole.

This is where mastery resides.

Tall order? 

You bet.
