Trying to do something you’re not here to do is like trying
to run a marathon in shoes that are two sizes too small.
Look, let’s be frank and open (like I’m never not), no matter who you are and what you’re choosing to do in this life there are going to be times, maybe many times, when the going is tough.
You’re going to run into barriers and blockages.
Sometimes life will attempt to take you down.
Anyone who tells you otherwise is not being honest with you; or they’re attempting to sell you some pipe dream for a hefty price.
The bigger the barrier and struggle the bigger the reward.
Embrace the suck.
I borrow the last line of the statement above from the Navy Seals. It’s one of my favorites.
The fact, is that you want situations and circumstances to “suck” sometimes. Why? Because it brings out the best within you that’s why.
You don’t grow bigger and better by lifting small loads.
Just the opposite.
You become bigger, better, faster, stronger, smarter by pushing your limits.
Deep down inside you know this is true.
Yeah I know it sucks.
Embrace the suck!
You become bigger, better, faster, stronger,
and smarter by pushing the limits of your own boundaries.
As far as I know I’m one of the few (if not the only one), talking about this in the entire personal and spiritual development industry.
I posted a similar “get busy/ keep pushing” type quote on social media last week and someone commented, “I’m here to chill.”
Yeah right. Wake up and smell the espresso.
If you were here to “chill” you wouldn’t even be here.
Quit fooling yourself please.
One of the immutable laws of this universe is that anything that does not contribute and provide value is eliminated.
Please read that again.
You’re running up against barriers for a reason; and that reason is to bring out the best from within you.
That reason is to test your mettle, your commitment and your fortitude.
Stay the course.
Shift your mindset.
Change your story.
Your story about your life determines your life.
We all take hits, the only difference between you or me (if there is any) is a difference of degree.
Look, life often hits hard. We all take hits.
What separates those who truly live versus
those who merely exist is how long they take to feel sorry for themselves.
Get up. Get busy!
Remind yourself of two things;
- You create your own barriers.
Yes you read that correctly.
The minute you set any outcome or objective you create a gap between where you are and where you intend to be.
The gap is full of barriers and challenges. Jumping and navigating the gap takes perseverance and work.
You created the gap.
If you hadn’t chosen a new direction and outcome there would be no gap.
Are you with me?
You’re getting what you asked for.
Embrace the suck.
- You want bigger barriers and challenges.
Big barriers mean that when you have the tenacity and the perseverance, you will be breathing the rare air that most will never breathe.
Most will give up.
When you don’t give up, you own your power; and you often own the entire field.
So how do you get beyond the big barriers?
Use your mind for a change. A massive change.
Most people don’t think, they only think they think.
You first reframe your mind and realize what we’ve discussed.
Then you keep pushing forward.
The forces of resistance must give way
to the indomitable spirit that just keeps coming.
Now let’s go.
One step at a time.
